Augustine once wrote, "I am the sort of man who writes because he has made progress, and who makes progress—by writing" (Epistle 143). I resemble that remark. And although the maxim that one learns by writing applies more to my vocation as a pastor, I hope that writing about shooting will also help me grow as a competetive shooter. I'm doing this for myself, but you can listen in and maybe find some helpful insights here and there. Check out my other blog that deals with the Bible, theology, and real life (not shooting).

Classification

Since I'm pontificating about competitive shooting I should probably say something about my current classifications.

IDPA:

CDP - Expert

ESP - Expert

SSP - Master

ESR - Sharpshooter

USPSA (TY73933):

Production - A

Equipment

It may be helpful to some to know what I shoot, so here's the list:

IDPA SSP & USPSA Production - Smith & Wesson M&P Pro 9mm (with Dawson Precision FO front & rear sights)

IDPA ESP - Same as SSP

IDPA CDP - STI Sentry .45 (with Dawson FO sights)

IDPA ESR - Smith & Wesson 625 (.45 cal)

I use Comp-Tac holsters and mag pouches for all my pistols in IDPA matches.

I use a CR Speed Belt, a Comp-Tac International holster, and DAA Race Master mag pouches in USPSA matches.
