The Right & Wrong Way

I hate to give this stupid video more hits, but it is an almost perfect example of the idiocy you see on YouTube that claims to be "shooting instruction."

No, that's not how it's done.  No way.  This guy is a crackpot.  If you follow his instruction, you will not shoot well on the move.

Here's the right way to move and shoot.  It's a longer video, but well worth it.

The internet is chock-full of self-proclaimed shooting experts.  Choose your instructors carefully.  And just for the record, I don't claim to be one.

  1. These videos are a striking example of the difference between someone who knows what he is doing and someone who merely thinks he knows what he is doing.

From my days in the Marine Corps I confess that real life is a lot different from target shooting. When the adrenaline is pumping, and you are on uneven terrain, it is hard enough to hit something with an M-16 let alone a 45. Throw in the fact that the targets are not only moving but shooting at you and the only reason to be firing a sidearm while moving is to scare the people who are shooting at you so they don't take accurate aim.

  2. True enough, David. But if you can't even get it right on flat ground in training, you'll never shoot straight when the crap hits the fan.

  3. I want everyone that shoots matches with me to use the 2 line technique from the first video. But only after I shoot because I won't be able to stop laughing.
